Pilot LNG has revealed plans and an application for permission to site a bunkering terminal in the US port of Galveston in Texas.

The infrastructure start-up said it has filed regulatory applications with relevant government agencies, including the US Army Corps of Engineers as the lead permitting agency, for Galveston LNG Bunker Port.

The proposed Galveston LNG Bunker Port (GLBP) project would comprise an LNG production vessel permanently moored off Pelican Island, TX. The island is in Galveston Bay, one of the busiest marine corridors in the United States, providing access to the Houston Ship Channel. It will use floating liquefaction technology engineered, and constructed by Pilot’s partner in the project, Wison Offshore & Marine.

Agreement executed with Seapath Group (a US subsidiary of the Libra Group) for the funding of the initial development and financing for construction upon final investment decision (FID).

Associates Ltd. (Baird).

Houston, Texas (8 April 2021) – Pilot LNG, LLC (Pilot), developer of the Galveston LNG Bunker Port (GLBP) project, announced today that it has awarded the Front-End Engineering & Design (FEED) contract for the project’s floating LNG unit to Wison Offshore & Marine (Wison).
